Voice - Overs
Professional voice over artist with extensive experience in:
TV and Radio, including commercials, documentaries, narration, promos and other multimedia applications. A wide range of character voices from youthful to serious.
Translation
Capable of undertaking translation tasks from English into Arabic and vice versa, from a small article to a complete textbook. Most of the translated material dealt with political topics, news items and current affairs, as well as financial and commercial issues. A number of these items were published in International Arabic magazines and journals. Her capability as a translator was commended as being accurate, fast and eloquent.
Teaching Experience
Private tuition to native speakers of Arabic who wish to learn English. She has also taught the art of translation, Arabic grammar and delivery to a number of Arabs who wish to have a career in Journalism and the television & radio media.
Radio Broadcasting
Outside contributor for the BBC as a programme presenter and features writer in the Arabic Service. The programmes included Arts, Science and Current Affairs. She has also participated on a freelance basis in commercials and programme presentation at the Arabic Service of Radio Spectrum International in London and Syrian Arab Broadcasting Services.
News Producer
Writing, editing and voicing news stories and making sure throughout the day of any updates necessary. She was also responsible for writing and editing LVO’s as assigned by the Editor of the day. Her job also included checking the wires and reviewing feeds for editorial purposes, and for writing introductions for them.
Chief Sub-Editor
Responsible for checking all political, business and sport scripts for accuracy of content and grammar, also making sure that all introductions are updated. Monitoring the wires throughout the day. Writing the headlines and continuity were also part of her responsibilities, as well as making sure that the bulletin was presented in standard classical Arabic which could be understood by all of the Arab audience across the Arab world.
Presenter and Editor
Presented a daily live programme interviewing guests and journalists for Middle East Broadcasting Centre. The programme offered an in-depth analysis of the coverage of the daily papers (English, American and Arabic). Responsibilities included researching, writing, preparing graphics and editing this section.
