 Wolf trained as an actor in Berlin and began his professional life in the theatre there.

Theatre credits include: Various productions at the Royal Court and touring the country and Continent with The Freehold Company, Agamemnon, The Trial, Metamorphosis and Salome at the National Theatre, Portrait of a Queen, A Flea In Her Ear, Hamlet.
