Haruka is an actress from Japan. She comes from Kyoto but can also deliver Japanese in regional accents from Tokyo and Osaka. She specialises in childrens voices, both girls and boys.
Haruka is part of the pop band Gorillaz - an animated band, formed by Blur's front man Damon Albarn and the creator of 'Tank Girl', Jamie Hewlett. From the beginning Haruka has voiced one of the characters, a young Japanese girl called Noodle, and this role has included backing singing for the world tour in the USA, UK, Europe and Japan.
Her film roles include appearances in One Minute Past Midnight, Iris, and The Incredibly Strange People Show. On TV she has appeared in Ideal (BBC3), Jonathan Creek, Grass, Broken News, Hiroshima, The Bill.
As a voice-over artist she has worked on computer games like Space Colony People, She has also voiced the character of Mariko in Kazuo Ishiguro’s A Pale View of Hills (BBC Radio 4) and recorded documentary narrations for Japanarama.
Haruka is a presenter on CBBC's 'Officially Amazing' series.
She is a qualified Stage Combat Instructor (British Academy of Dramatic Combat).
