Oleksiy is a voice-over artist and broadcast journalist, and a qualified translator and interpreter with an MA (Hons) in Linguistics. He was born in the ex-USSR, and speaks mother tongue Russian and fluent Ukranian and English. He has had more than 10 years experience in broadcast media, in particular BBC World Service Radio and Television.
His skills include voice-overs, presenting and narration for media; translating and interpreting from and into English, Russian and Ukranian; consecutive, simultaneous and ad hoc interpreting; copy-writing, subtitling, editing, proof-reading and adapting.
Previous voice work includes documentaries for The British Council, BBC World, BBC History, recordings for aircraft in-flight media material and on-board announcements, World Cup 2002, Tate & Lyle, CNN News programmes.
