Tom Rivers
Tom has always worn a number of hats. This Minneapolis native broke into radio over 35 years ago as a reporter. While paying his dues as a DJ and cartoon show host in the early 80’s, he completed his Master’s Degree at the University of Minnesota.
Crossing the Pond in 1984, he became Programme Controller of North Sea station Laser 558, followed by 8 years as the London bureau chief of the UPI Radio Network and then the NBC Radio Network. In 1993, he dusted off his jocking skills to be part of the Virgin 1215 launch team.
For the next six years, Rivers was a London-based correspondent for NBC & CBS Radio. He’s now moved across town, to the largest US Network – ABC.
When he’s not wearing his reporter’s hat, he’s featured on American accented ads and promos for BBC, ITV, Cartoon Network and BSkyB amongst others.
