You-Ri Yamanaka

Japanese. Actress, young, warm, fresh.

You-Ri is a Japanese actress who trained at LAMDA, Ecole Philippe Gaulier (Le Coq School). Her vocal age ranges from 20-35, and her voice can be described as youthful, warm and friendly.

You-Ri’s voice over credits include work for “The Last Enemy” (BBC Films), “Japanorama” (BBC), Diverse Production, Antenna Audio, Success on Hold, Alchemy Studios, various co-op training videos, documentaries, computer games, telephone announcements for British Airways, Hong Kong Deagon Airlines, IBM, Glaxo SmithKline, MacAfee ,Dow Jones, Interval International, In-Flight Announcements for Emirates and Turkish Airlines, language CDs for Linguaphone, Oxford University Press, Hodder & Stoughton Educational and De Agostini Japan and TV commercials for NOKIA, Japan Sky TV, FUJI TV, All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, Embassy of Japan and OCS Europe.

She has also worked as a reporter for several Japanese television companies including FUJI TV (FPI), Tokyo Broadcasting Service and TV Kanagawa.

On film and television she has appeared in “Silent Witness”, “Spirit Warriors”, ”Reunited” (BBC), “Yuki”, “Tokyo Jim”, ”Theatre of Souls” and “You’re Welcome”.

You-Ri is also a playwright and her first English play “Lemon Elegy”, which was awarded an Arts Council England Grant directed by Tim Baker (Associate Director of Clwyd Theatr Cymru) was performed at the Jermyn Street Theatre. She is also a senior acting teacher at the New National Theatre Tokyo.
