Ellie Baer is a native New Yorker who has written and produced high profile television programs for over a dozen years. Her celebrated credits include A&E’s flagship Biography series, VH-1’s edgy Behind the Music, The Nashville Network’s Life & Times music series, PBS’ prestigious American Masters series, CBS Television Network’s Most Fascinating Women of the Year, NBC’s celebrity-studded Livin’ Large, Lifetime Television’s An Intimate Portrait, Bravo’s artistic Profiles series, E Network’s Clean House, The History Channel’s Modern Marvels macho-technology series, TLC’s Fabulous Cakes and a host of other quality series and specials.
A songwriter and former recording artist with Cornerstone Records, Ellie began her career writing country songs for Los Angeles music publishing houses. Although her roots had been in rock and pop, she earned songwriting contracts with EMI, Peer Music, Criterion Corporation, Hal David Music, and Al Gallico Music Corporation.
After touring Japan as an artist, her talents as a songwriter and singer led to multiple character albums for Walt Disney including Rock Around The Mouse featuring Little Richard, Lullaby Babies with Stephen Bishop and The Little Mermaid’s Songs From the Sea. Using her expertise in the children’s arena, Ellie later became an A&R director for Warner Records’ eclectic KID RHINO label and executive produced multiple products in conjunction with Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and many other kid-friendly animated brands.
Ellie has scored several pilots for television and her original songs have been featured in film, as well. Her passion for music has helped her to forge working relationships with such entertainment legends as Quincy Jones and Carly Simon.
Ms. Baer is the former creative director at Leonard Productions, an award winning LA -based documentary production company. She is a member of BMI. SAG, AFTRA, and The Producers Guild of America. With great enthusiasm, Ellie continues to write, produce and sing original music. Her present career as a voice over talent sprung from her work for Walt Disney over fifteen years ago.
